Davante Adams Opens Up About Aaron Rodgers Relationship After Requesting Trade

While Aaron Rodgers made the ultimate decision to take his talents back to Green Bay — working out and extension — he’ll be without star receiver Davante Adams for the first time in a while.

After making it known that he had no intentions of playing on the franchise tag, the Packers shipped Adams to the Raiders for an absolute haul.

This week, Davante Adams opened up on his feelings towards Aaron Rodgers after the deal, sharing his belief that he was playing with the best to ever do it.

“It was really an idea up until it was done. Me playing in Green Bay, a great situation, having the greatest quarterback to play the game, that’s a dream in itself,” Adams said via wbay.com. “It’s not the first time an impactful player to an org has had to leave. I feel like it worked out for both sides ultimately.”

Davante Adams would go on to say that his decision to leave had nothing to do with Aaron Rodgers. And he’s looking forward to playing closer to family in Las Vegas.

“I have a lot of family in California that’s never been to see me play before,” he said. “Just kind of reflecting and thinking about life things and stuff that really matters in this world, that’s stuff that matters to me.”

It’s hard to really argue that Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers wasn’t the best QB-WR duo we’ve seen over the past decade. But now, the NFL is starting to look different, and the NFC will undoubtedly get less competitive without Adams catching passes from his buddy, Rodgers.
