Malcolm Butler Speaks On Super Bowl Benching After Re-Signing With The Patriots

New England Patriots Super bowl hero, Malcolm Butler, is back with the team.

This offseason, Bill Belichick brought back the familiar face. But things still might be awkward when it comes to how it ended the first time.

During the Super Bowl loss to Nick Foles and the Eagles, Butler was famously benched in favor of other defensive backs. And even though he has now returned, Butler revealed that Belichick still hasn’t brought up the infamous benching.

Malcolm Butler was the corner who had the unbelievable interception off Russell Wilson on the one-yard line to win the Super Bowl. But despite his previous heroics, Butler was passed up on by Belichick towards the end of his tenure in New England.

Now, Butler is back, and he’ll be expected to do whatever asked from him by Bill Belichick.

You’d have to think Malcolm Butler still hold a little animosity towards the standoffish head coach for how he’s handling the benching to this day, though.
