Stephen A. Smith Having A Field Day After Kyrie Irving Gets swept

All week long, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has been going all-in on his criticism of Nets guard Kyrie Irving.

Following one of their losses to the Celtics, Irving made the excuse that he hasn’t built any comradery with his his teammates. And Smith was quick to bash the star point guard.

“I would never give him a long-term contract again! He cannot be trusted. … He is one of the absolute professionals at missing work,” he said.

Well luckily for Stephen A. Smith, the Celtics pulled off the improbable sweep of Kyrie Irving and the Nets on Monday night, ending a tumultuous Nets season after they came into the year as NBA Championship favorites.

During “First Take” on Tuesday, Smith has another message for Kyrie. Specifically, Stephen A thinks Irving doesn’t even really care about the disappointing sweep.

After choosing not to take the COVID vaccine, Kyrie Irving was forced to sit out most Nets games during the regular season due to a New York mandate.

The year before, Irving took an extended absence from the team because he was so troubled by the riots at The Capitol Building.

Now, the Nets are left wondering if Kyrie Irving is going to be all-in next season. And Stephen A. Smith will likely continue to bash the entire situation all offseason long.
