Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Throws Shade At LeBron James Following Award Presentation In Los Angeles

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar threw some shade at LeBron James following his name-sake award presentation to Los Angeles Lakers’ Carmelo Anthony for pursuing social justice and driving equality.

Abdul-Jabbar stuck around after the presentation and talked with reporters who asked about LeBron James and his legacy.

Abdul-Jabbar stated that “I admire the many things he has done…sending a whole school to college, wow, that’s amazing, his thoughtfulness and willingness to back it up with his wallet…gotta give him credit for that…but some of the things he’s done he should be embarrassed about.”

James currently sits in second place with 37,602 points scored behind just Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who put up 38,387 points in his career. One has to believe that someday James will sit atop of this throne.

Kareem has been openly critical of LeBron and his stance on vaccine mandates and such. Many questioned LeBron’s post a couple months back using the Spiderman meme to discuss COVID.

LeBron has been openly criticized for his work with Nike and dealing with China. Adbul-Jabbar was previously quoted saying, “Some of the great things that he’s done, he’s standing on both sides of the fence almost, you know? It makes it hard for me to accept that when he’s committed himself to a different take on everything. It’s hard to figure out where he’s standing. You’ve got to check him out every time.”

Many around the NBA took extra shots at LeBron today as he sat out with an ankle injury while the team is pushing to make the playoffs.

The Lakers fell 129 – 118 to the Denver Nuggets in Los Angeles today and now sit 1.5 games back of the San Antonio Spurs for 10th place in the West. With just four games left in the season, the Lakers could very easily miss the playoffs this season.
