Boston Celtics guard Jayson Tatum has been open about his past self-doubt throughout his team’s playoff run. And that continued prior to Game 3 against the Warriors tonight.
When speaking with reporters about his lackluster performance in Game 2, Tatum promptly asked a question: why is there a constant conversation about his ‘superstar’ status?
“I want to know where that came from, like did I tweet that? Did I ever say that I’m a superstar? That never came from me, but it’s been a big deal this last year and a half or two,” he said.

Is Jayson Tatum A Superstar?
Sure, you could make an argument that this comment is a little soft by Tatum. After all, guys like Kobe or MJ would never present themselves as anything less than a bonafide ‘superstar’.
But I find it kind of refreshing that a player of Tatum’s caliber can let his guard down from time-to-time. At the end of the day, he still has some work to do to prove he’s one of the very best in the NBA. And showing up in full force for the remainder of the NBA Finals would go a long way in doing so.
Regardless, Jayson Tatum has seen your arguments on social media, but he doesn’t care to engage in any of it.
