Fernando Tatis Suspension: Shortstop Blames “Ringworm” For Mistake

Fernando Tatis Jr. is back in the news for all the wrong reasons.

On Friday afternoon, a bombshell report revealed that the Padres slugger was found with PEDs in his system, and will immediately be suspended for 80 games.

In a lengthy statement, Fernando Tatis Jr. explained that he was mistakenly using the illegal drugs to treat a variety of different skin conditions, including ringworm.

“It turns out that I inadvertently took a medication to treat ringworm that contained Clostebol,” the statement said, in part. “I should have used the resources available to me in order to ensure that no banned substances were in what I took. I failed to do so. I want to apologize to Peter, AJ, the entire Padres organization, my teammates, Major League Baseball, and fans everywhere for my mistake. I have no excuse for my error, and I would never do anything to cheat or disrespect the game I love.”

Fernando Tatis Jr. was immediately trolled over his ringworm admission.

This isn’t the first time that Fernando Tatis Jr. will have to miss games for poor offseason decisions.

In the offseason, Tatis got into a motorcycle accident, and has had to miss the entirety of this season because of injuries stemming from that incident.

When that occurred, Fernando also decided to wait to tell the Padres, which pushed back his surgery, recovery time, and forced him to miss even more games than he could have.

It’s obvious that Fernando Tatis Jr. is one of the most talented players we’ve seen in a long time, but if he doesn’t make better decisions, he could seriously hinder his entire career.
