Christian Vazquez Bombarded By Reporters Immediately After Being Traded To The Astros

The Houston Astros have added an upgrade at backstop before the Trade Deadline.

Just a little bit ago, MLB insider Jeff Passan reported that the Astros had agreed on a deal with the Red Sox for veteran catcher Christian Vazquez.

The Houston Astros are finalizing a deal to acquire catcher Christian Vázquez from the Boston Red Sox, sources tell ESPN.

The Red Sox are playing in Houston tonight, so Vázquez presumably will just walk around the stadium to join his new teammates. And the Sox's sale begins.

Awkwardly, Christian Vazquez was taking batting practice ahead of the Red Sox-Astros game tonight when the news was announced.

Almost immediately after he was told he was traded, Vazquez was bombarded by a whole group of reporters.

While he was understandably speechless, Vazquez was able to point out the “business” side of the game.

Now, Christian Vazquez will make the walk to the other side of the stadium to get acclimated with his new team right away.

The Astros were obviously yin the market for an upgrade at catcher, and they got a good one in Vazquez. He’s currently hitting .282 with eight home runs and 42 RBIs.

He’ll join an Astros team with World Series aspirations, and will likely fit in just fine with his new team.

What a whirlwind afternoon it must be for Christian Vazquez.
