Tiger Woods’ longtime rival, Phil Mickelson, will expectedly be leaving the PGA for the Saudi LIV Golf tour.
After a hiatus from the sport of golf, Mickelson released a long statement on Monday explaining why he’ll be joining the new tour despite some controversial comments earlier in the year.

With Phil Mickelson being paid an insane amount to join LIV Golf, it was also announced that the new tour made a run for Tiger Woods, but he declined.
According to former golfer Greg Norman — who has heavy stake in LIV Golf — Woods was offered a high amount in the “nine figures” range to leave the PGA for LIV.

Obviously, money isn’t the main chase for Tiger Woods at this point in his career.
After suffering the terrible leg injury from the one-car crash earlier in the year, Woods seems to have his sights set on competing again on Sunday for PGA Tour events.
This latest news goes to show how different the motivations are for both Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods at this point of their respective careers.
