Islam Makhachev Respects Bobby Green For Taking The Fight; Shares Opponents Who Turned The Fight Down and Promises a Finish

Islam Makhachev is facing late replacement fighter Bobby Green who jumped in to fight the hype train on just 10 days notice.

Makhachev was scheduled to take on Beneil Dariush on Saturday, but two weeks ago the fighter was forced to pull out of the fight.

Bobby Green took the fight just a couple days after defeating Nasrat Haqparast by decision at UFC 271.

Makhachev was recently interview by TMZ where he stated that he respected Green for taking the fight as many other fighters refused to take the fight on short notice.

It has been a common theme for opponents to duck Makhachev as the rising star is 21-1 in his career.

Makhachev suggested that his manager said that Rafael Dos Anos and Gillespie weren’t interested in the fight.

Makhachev also promised a finish. He has finished three fights in a row.

Bobby Green also talked to TMZ this week saying that he was “fu-king nuts” for taking the fight on short notice.

Green has been on a nice run lately winning two fights in a row, against Haqparast and knocking out Al Iaquinta.

The two headline the UFC Vegas 49 card taking place Saturday night in Las Vegas.
