The Latest Odds on the Homerun Derby Have Arrived

Who’s ready for some dingers?

ESPN will air the 2022 T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday, July 18, at 8 p.m. ET as part of its MLB coverage around MLB All-Star 2022 from Los Angeles. Karl Ravech will be the voice of the Home Run Derby for the sixth time, calling the event with analyst Eduardo Perez and reporters Buster Olney and Marly Rivera.

Here are the participants below:

No. 1 Kyle Schwarber vs. No. 8 Albert Pujols. The teams: Schwarber (Phillies); Pujols (Cardinals). …
No. 4 Juan Soto vs. No. 5 Jose Ramirez. …
No. 2 Pete Alonso vs. No. 7 Ronald Acuna Jr. …
No. 3 Corey Seager vs. No. 6 Julio Rodriguez.

Pete Alonzo is the current favorite going into  the event, Alonzo has won the past two derbys.

Schwarber, who entered Thursday leading the National League with 28 homers, will be making his second Derby appearance. After a seven-year hiatus, Albert Pujols will return to the Home Run Derby stage in his final Major League season. Ronald Acuña is making his second trip to the Derby; he was beat by Alonso in the second round in 2019.

Rangers All star Cory Seager will be making his second Derby appearance. Seager took part in the contest in 2016, his rookie season. Julio Rodríguez is the first rookie to take part in the Derby since Alonso and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. participated

Juan Soto makes his second straight Derby appearance after putting on a show in his debut last year.

Cleveland slugger  Jose Ramírez will be making his Derby debut, after turning down the opportunity a few times previously.
