Zach LaVine Responds To Rumors That He Could Be On The Trading Block

Zach LaVine has been a lone bright spot on an abysmal Chicago Bulls team for the past couple of years. Last season, LaVine was the lone representative for the Bulls in the All-Star game that took place in Chicago. LaVine led the Bulls in scoring, averaging 25.5 PPG.

While the Bulls have been a laughingstock for the better part of the past decade, there is reason for optimism in Chicago. Long time general manager Gar Forman is gone. Arturas Karnisovas has come in to take over basketball operations. The main question Karnisovas has to answer is, “what are you going to do with Zach LaVine?” Lavine is far and away the Bulls best asset, but many wonder if it would be in the team’s best interest to trade the All-Star in order to build for their future.

All Summer, we’ve heard speculation about what the Bulls might do with LaVine. Most recently, Vincent Goodwill, a senior reporter with Yahoo sports, reported that LaVine was a ‘hot name’ in trade talks.

While trade talk continues to surround Zach LaVine, he has remained focused on the upcoming season.

“I understand the business of basketball, but at the end of the day, anybody can get traded on any team and anybody can go anywhere just like injuries can happen to everybody,’’ LaVine said via Chicago Sun-Times. “So, as long as I’m on this team, you know, I’m gonna continue to put my input and try to be a leader and show, you know, what type of guy I am and what my value is.

“And if something happens it happens, I understand that. I got traded here from Minnesota and I understand it. So it’s things that happen, but while you’re on this team you have to be all in. So I’ve been all in since the first day I’ve been here. I really like Chicago, but you know, if something were to happen, obviously I’m not a resentful person, I understand the business of basketball and I keep moving forward.’’

LaVine has a good attitude. Hopefully he can be a part of a winner at some point in his career. Time will tell if he’ll be a part of the Chicago Bulls rebuild.
