Now listen closely. I get it. We’re all tired of being in. I live in Los Angeles, which has also struggled to flatten the curve of COVID-19 spread, and it’s been beautiful here for the last few weeks. The temptation to go out and frolic, especially on Memorial Day Weekend, is high after two months of self-quarantining and shelter in place orders from the government.

But this, this right here, is how things get worse. We’re so close to have sports back with the NBA on the cusp of actually formalizing their plan to return. You’ve got your NASCAR, UFC adding cards. It looks good. And then you see this in a state in Missouri that has barely flattened their curve and had 194 new cases recognized yesterday and they’re out there maskless and right next to each other in a hot-ass pool that’s a verifiable stew of disease even in non-pandemic times.

So this is half PSA, half impassioned plea/warning: don’t be like Missouri. If you NEED to get back out there, keep your goddamn masks on and distance yourself. Because, so help me God, if dipshits like these people up top result in me not being able to see and gamble money on LeBron, Giannis and the boys again this summer (or Tom Brady and the fellas in the fall), there will be hell to pay. HELL. TO PAY.
