Two Firefighters to Be Fired for Taking Pictures of Kobe’s Crash Site

Two firefighters will be fired for taking pictures of crash victims per Vanessa Bryant’s lawyers.

According to reports, Vanessa’s attorneys filed legal documents about scheduling the trial in her invasion of privacy lawsuit against L.A. County. Vanessa’s legal team says they received paperwork from the fire department’s own internal investigation and found that they’d sent 2 firefighters “intention to discharge” letters because they’d taken pics at the scene.

Via NY Post:

“Lawyers for the NBA legend’s widow, Vanessa Bryant, made the revelation in a filing on Monday about delaying the trial in her federal lawsuit against LA County, to allow time for additional investigation.

According to the legal docs, the two firefighters were sent “intention to discharge” letters last December after an internal investigation concluded they were mixed up in the sordid photo-sharing saga.

The firefighters allegedly snapped pictures of the crash victims’ remains that “served no business necessity” and “only served to appeal to baser instincts and desires for what amounted to visual gossip,” the filing states.”

Both firefighters apparently shared the pics with an L.A. County Fire media relations officer who then sent them around to other firefighters. The media relations officer was reportedly sent a suspension notice, however it is unknown if the firefighters have been fired as of yet.

A spokesman for the department declined to comment to local outlet KNBC, citing the pending litigation.

This is another win for Kobe. RIP Mamba.
