MLB Gets Involved With Trevor Bauer Situation Before Scheduled Weekend Start

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer is facing an uphill battle after a lawsuit claims he sexually assaulted a woman on two separate occasions.

The lawsuit says that Bauer choked the woman out and repeatedly punched her in the face during sex.

On Thursday, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that he would defer any decision on Trevor Bauer to the Major League Baseball office.

On Friday, MLB finally sent out a statement on the Trevor Bauer situation. The league office has decided to place the pitcher on administrative leave.

“MLB’s investigation into the allegations made against Trevor Bauer is ongoing,” the league said. “While no determination in the case has been made, we have made the decision to place Mr. Bauer on seven-day administrative leave effective immediately. MLB continues to collect information in our ongoing investigation concurrent with the Pasadena Police Department’s active criminal investigation. We will comment further at the appropriate time.”

Trevor Bauer, the reigning Cy Young Award winner, was picking up right where he left off in 2021.

In 17 starts, Bauer is currently 8-5 with a 2.59 ERA. He has also managed to strike out 137 batters in 107.2 innings of work.

So far, Bauer’s camp has denied the allegations, saying anything between him and the accuser was a product of “rough consensual sex”.

We’ll continue to provide updates on the Trevor Bauer situation.
