TNT Could Actually Be Moving On From Chris Webber Next Year

TNT broadcaster Chris Webber is pretty universally hated by NBA fans because of how he calls a game. Every time he’s on the call for TNT, fans flock to social media to share their displeasure, and have even created petitions to get him removed from the team.

Now, it’s beginning to look like fans might actually get their wish. According to a report by Andrew Marchand of The New York Post, Webber ticked of the TNT higher-ups when he bailed on calling March Madness right before the tournament.

Per The New York Post:

Webber has been on TNT’s No. 1 team for a few seasons, but has yet to fully connect with the audience. The feeling that Webber may not return has been building for a while.

In March, Webber did not help himself — if he wishes to continue to call games — by informing Turner officials very late that he would not do the NCAA Tournament that took place in a “bubble” format in Indianapolis.

Though TNT has been very understanding about COVID concerns throughout the pandemic, the fact that Webber waited until the last moment before bailing was looked upon as poor form.

It’s unclear who TNT might turn to for their #1 NBA broadcast team if Marv Albert retires and Chris Webber is let go.

However, I think fans will be happier with just about anyone other than Chris Webber.
