According to Brandon Robinson of Heavy, the Boston Celtics are ‘frantically’ trying to land James Harden. The Celtics would have their work cut out for them if they were to pull this one off. According to the rumor, the team is trying to load up on picks and young assets that would appeal to Houston. That would mean dealing Kemba Walker and Gordon Heyward at a minimum.

Pairing James Harden with the likes of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown would turn the Celtics into a perennial contender, and a favorite to win the Eastern Conference in 2021. What a deal would mean for the Houston Rockets remains to be seen.

With the NBA Draft happening tomorrow night, we might see Harden traded within the next 24 hours. If that were to be the case, picks would likely be on the table. It seems that the Nets are still the favorite to land James Harden. But with rumors still swirling, it will not come as a surprise if a savvy team such as the Celtics comes in late and steals Harden away. Anything can happen at this point.

James Harden would be a huge pickup for any contender.
