The Big Ten Is Back, Bringing Their Dysfunction and Corruption To Your Television October 23rd

It only took 8 months of planning and other conferences successfully kicking a season off to shame the Big Ten into playing a 2020 season. Congrats Kevin Warren, you did it. You did your job, you put out meaningless PR statements until you realized that wasn’t a real solution. I remain convinced that the cancelation of the season had nothing to do with covid and everything to do with the players trying to unionize. The Big Ten cancelation came at too convenient of a time and right after they had announced a schedule.

Anyway, the Big Ten is back. The student athletes will be tested daily and if any of them test positive, the earliest they would be able to return to play is 21 days after diagnosis. It seems that the rules are more strict than the other conferences but that’s ok, I’m just happy to see the the conference have a plan, and one that looks after the athletes.

Big Ten Conference Schedule

Each Big Ten team will play 8 conference only games starting October 23, ending with a championship game on December 19th.  There will also be a matchup for 2nd place from the east and west, third place, etc. Where they have my attention, is the game for last place on December 19th. Purdue vs. Rutgers is going to be the highlight of my year. I can just imagine a 3-3 game tied in the 4th quarter going down to the line. Big Ten football! Could break the NCAA record for punts in a game (77).

Also not sure how Big Ten teams can be in the college football playoffs when they are only playing 8 games and other conferences are playing 10 or 11 games.

Anyway, I guess I’m excited. It wouldn’t be the fall without me being sad on Saturdays after Nebraska games. Last Saturday was just too relaxing, I watched football and I didn’t get even get any noise complaints. What kind of a football season is that? But don’t let this new make you forget, the Big Ten sucks. This was a total embarrassment and failure on all levels.

Oh, and it would be a bad look on my part if I didn’t thank Sir Yacht for all of his help during this trying time.
