Texans Reportedly Not Listening to any Deshaun Watson’s Trade Offers

The Houston Texans are trying their best not to lose their franchise quarterback. Deshaun Watson has officially announced he has no interest in playing in Houston.  He wants to be traded, and at this point, he’ll play hardball if they don’t grant his request. On the other side of the coin, the Texans have no interest in trading him. Teams that are calling them to inquire about a trade, they’re pretty much telling them they’re not interested in even listening to offers.

“According to two high-level executives from different teams in the quarterback market, Texans brass have told interested teams that they will not be having any conversations about trading Watson.

“We’ve been told ‘no’ from them directly,” one of the executives said.

Interested teams are putting plans together, he continued. “But I don’t think the Texans are listening.”

The second executive said he isn’t sure what to make of Houston not wanting to talk about a Watson trade. There’s new leadership in town, but the organization has been such a mess.

“It’s Houston right now,” he said. “They don’t have any rhyme or reason on what they have done over the last year-and-a-half.”

The Texans may be playing hardball now, but at some point, they’re going to have to come to the realization Watson is dead set on leaving. They might as well try to get as much as possible while the market is still hot for him.

Watson probably isn’t too scared to sit out if he needs to, he already has plenty of money, and plenty of leverage.
