Ezekiel Elliot Speaks Out On The Mindset Inside The Cowboys Organization

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the NFL’s worst teams this season. Having said that, you all know the status of the NFC East. The Cowboys are currently 3-7 and just trail the Eagles for the leading spot in the division. In fact, a win over Washington on Thanksgiving would give them the lead in the NFC East at a measly 4-7. Despite the Cowboys’ woes in the 2020 season, they were able to oust a surging Vikings team on Sunday. Running back Ezekiel Elliot had his best game of the season with his first 100+ yard rushing performance of the year. Elliot spoke out about the mentality inside the Cowboys organization after the win.

“We never thought we were out of it,” Ezekiel Elliott said. “Our division’s been struggling this year. We’re right where we need to be with what’s been going on with the division. We’ve got to build on this success, so we can’t come out on a short week and take a step back against a division opponent. We’ve got to make sure we build on the success and keep getting better.”

The NFC East has been struggling for more than just this year. And, for the record, struggling is putting it lightly. However, Ezekiel Elliot is right. There isn’t much of a place to go other than up for the Cowboys. At just 3-7, they likely won’t finish the season with a winning record, but in the NFC East, they may not need one to make the playoffs.

The fate of the Dallas Cowboys is in their own hands this season and Ezekiel Elliot believes they are right where they need to be. The NFC East is pretty much 2020 in a nutshell. At this point, the Cowboys winning that division would be no surprise.
