Stephen Curry Has An Epic Reaction To Reporter Using His Real Name: “Wardell”

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has a lot of nicknames, but has never been referred to by his real name “Wardell” in NBA circles. Until now. The Athletic’s Marcus Thompson asked Steph a question after the team’s 121-99 win over the Spurs on Wednesday, and threw in a “Wardell” when addressing the point guard. Needless to say, this left Steph shook.

“Wardell, um, why is Kelly so good at put-back dunks,” the reporter asks. First of all, weird question. Why is somebody good at put back dunks? How is Steph supposed to answer that? “I don’t know he’s a good dunker and rebounds the ball well…” I feel like this reporter literally only asked him this stupid soft ball question so he could throw in a “Wardell” and get a reaction. Be better. Its Stephen Curry to you.

Anyways, Stephen Curry’s eyes say it all here. He was shocked by by being called Wardell. Steph’s probably only used to being called Wardell when he was a kid and his mother was yelling at him. Other than that I don’t see a reason why we’d hear him be called by his real name.

Maybe this reporter lost a bet or something.
