Social Media Responds To Deshaun Watson To Miami Trade Rumors

The NFL is in full swing as the last week of pre-season comes to a close tomorrow night. With that said, NFL teams are making roster cuts and trades to disgruntled players.

Sony Michel was moved earlier this week to the Los Angeles Rams, while former cult sensation Gardner Minshew was traded to Philadelphia early Saturday morning after the Jaguars announced they would be starting first overall pick Trevor Lawrence.

The Eagles were rumored to have enough pieces to make a move for Texans QB Deshaun Watson. While this move is more of an indication of the team’s lack of confidence in backup Joe Flacco, it should not be completely shrugged off that the Eagles are not yet 100% all-in on Hurts.

While the Eagles move isn’t that big, it seems like they may be waving the white flag in the Watson sweepstakes. With the allegations, possibly fines, suspensions, and extremely high price tag that Houston is still demanding in a trade, it’s not surprising to see the Eagles move on.

Queue the Miami Dolphins. They drafted Tua Tagovailoa with their 5th overall pick in 2020, but don’t seem entirely sold on him. The Dolphins were in a semi QB carousel last season as they started the season with Ryan Fitzpatrick, then gave Tua a chance, then had Fitpatrick jump back in on a couple occasions.

The Dolphins went out and signed former Texans WR Will Fuller to a one-year $10 million dollar contract. They also drafted Tagovailoa’s former WR at Alabama, Jaylen Waddle, with the 6th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

While many analysts believe that this new crop of weapons should only help Tagovailoa in year 2, the Dolphins are now rumored to be the landing spot for Deshaun Watson. Reporters around the league suggest that that asking price sits at three 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks.

This report also indicates that Watson may be to blame for some of the hold up as his contractual right allows him to approve the trade destination. At this point, it seems like Watson is hoping to be reunited with his former WR Will Fuller in Miami.

The trade is truly just one part of this trade. There are many allegations against Watson and there is no guarantee he even takes another snap in the NFL. This is no doubt a sticky situation for everyone involved. So if you’re Miami, why even bother? Fans took to social media after hearing reports to criticize the actions of the Dolphins ahead of the start of the NFL season.

Miami fans either believe that the team is making a massive mistake or they believe that the analysts have no idea what they’re talking about because they have full confidence in Tua. Either way, the trade rumors are not going to bed. Nothing will shock me at this point.
