Simone Biles Makes Women’s Gymnastics History With Must-See Vault

Thanks to the events of the past year, 2021 is in fact an Olympic year. One athlete who appears to be more than ready for the games to begin is American gymnast Simone Biles.

On Saturday, Biles set social media on fire when she landed what’s officially known as a Yurchenko double pike. This specific vault is considered to be one of, if not the hardest vault in women’s gymnastics history.

Oh, yeah that video above was just her practice run. Biles nailed the real thing in the actual 2021 GK U.S. Classic event last night:

By sticking that landing, Simone Biles became the first woman to ever pull off a successful Yurchenko double pike in competition.
