Saquon Barkley Workout Video Shows He’s Making Progress Towards ACL Recovery

Saquon Barkley was forced to exit his third season early as he tore his ACL in week 2 of the 2020 NFL season. It has been seven months since the gruesome injury and a comeback looks like it is still in the works. However, Barkley posted an encouraging video on Monday morning showing his progress. It isn’t much, but it is a positive sign for Giants fans. Take a look and see for yourself.

Saquon Barkley quickly emerged as one of the NFL’s most exciting players when he was drafted by the Giants back in 2018. He ran for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns in addition to 721 yards and four touchdowns through the passing game during his rookie season. The Penn State alum followed up his rookie year with a 1,003-yard, six-touchdown performance in 13 games during the 2019 season. Unfortunately, his third season came to an end much too soon.

The hope is that Saquon Barkley will be able to return at full health for the 2021 season. He is a long way away from taking contact at full speed, but the workout is definitely a step in the positive direction for Barkley and the Giants organization. Hopefully, in time, he will be able to return to his electric self. Prior to his knee injury, he was easily one of the most exciting players to watch in the NFL.

Saquon Barkley explained in an interview earlier this year how he felt early on in the injury.

“When I hurt my knee, I’m not going to lie, that’s probably the weakest moment of my life, especially in those first few days,” Barkley said, via NJ.com. “I just couldn’t control myself crying, asking ‘Why me? Why me? Why me?”

Hopefully, he comes back stronger than ever and continues to be the force that he is capable of being. The Giants will need Saquon Barkley at full health if they want to have a chance to win the NFC East. They have some definite question marks to address in other areas.
