Rutgers’ Ron Harper Jr. Sends Social Media Into A Frenzy With Wild Buzzer Beater To Take Down #1 Purdue

Rutgers’ Ron Harper is the talk of the sports world on Thursday night.

With the Scarlet Knights facing the tall task of taking on the first-ranked Purdue Boilermakers, the game went back-and-forth for most of the second half.

With a little over three seconds left, Purdue’s Trevion Williams made what appeared to be the game winning field goal. But when Ron Harper took the ball on the inbound, he got as close as he could down the floor before flipping up a heave.

When the shot went down, Rutgers fans rejoiced for what has easily been the most electric scene of the young college basketball season.

Ron Harper Jr. pulled the Rutgers squad to the massive upset – with the closing line at around +650 (depending on what sports book you’re looking at).
