The Russell Wilson saga has completely dominated the news this week.
The superstar quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks is reportedly fed up with his organization. Specifically, Russ feels like his voice is not heard by the coaching staff or management. While the story continues to develop, one tidbit from today was especially jarring.
Russell Wilson has seemingly had enough of Pete Carroll, and the power dynamic he has created with his sons on the coaching staff.
Seahawks receivers coach Nate Carroll, Pete's son, briefly stepped away from the job in frustration over his role, sources tell The Athletic.
He made his unhappiness known to players.

I have to side with Russell Wilson on this one. He deserves just as much credit for the recent success of the Seattle Seahawks as anyone. That includes head coach Pete Carroll. While Carroll has had the autonomy to add his unqualified sons to the coaching staff where they make decisions on personnel and scheme, Wilson is just expected to show up and shut up.
That type of power dynamic does not work in today’s NFL. When you have a quarterback like a Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, you give them a seat at the table. Just look what Kansas City has done with Mahomes. When Andy Reid outlines his offseason plan, he asks the young Mahomes for his input. That goes a long way while creating a healthy relationship with a franchise quarterback.
It’s time for Russell Wilson to get the respect he deserves from the Seattle Seahawks. If not, it could get ugly.
