Roger Federer Has Hilarious Post-Match Interaction With Reporter After First Round Of Wimbledon

Roger Federer has dominated the biggest tennis tournament in the world, Wimbledon, for many years.

So even as Federer’s body has deteriorated, and he’s had to fight just to make this year’s tournament, fans still packed Centre Court for Roger’s first round match at Wimbledon on Tuesday.

Federer was locked in a tight match with Adrian Mannarino in the first round. But after Mannarino had to retire following the fourth set, Federer advanced.

After the match, a reporter was trying to ask Roger Federer how it felt to be back at Centre Court at Wimbledon after everything he has been through over the past year. The only problem? The reporter kept using the saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder,” and Roger had no idea what the dude was talking about.

Luckily, the reporter was able to explain the saying the Roger Federer well, and the legend gave a great response (as he always does).

While Federer might not be the same player we’ve become accustomed to seeing dominate tennis for the past decade, it’s still pretty cool to see him back a Wimbledon.

Few athletes have ever been tied to an event quite the same as Roger Federer is tied to the grass court at Centre Court of Wimbledon. It feels right to see him back out there, with fans cheering him on.

Hopefully Roger Federer can find a way to make a long run during this year’s Wimbledon tournament. He’ll have the crowd on his side, that’s for sure.
