Patrick Reed Is Beyond Salty That he Wasn’t Selected To US Ryder Cup Team

Earlier in the week, Team USA Ryder Cup captain Steve Stricker made the surprising revelation that he was not selecting Patrick Reed to the 2021 squad.

Steve Stricker said he spoke to Patrick Reed – who was said to have taken it like a champ. But according to his social media activity, Reed isn’t happy.

Reed used his Twitter account to “like” a bunch of posts from fans who were up-in-arms that he wasn’t named to the Ryder Cup team.

While Patrick Reed hasn’t publicly had comments for Steve Stricker (yet), he clearly has some bad feelings about not being named to the squad.

Shortly after announcing the roster, Stricker spoke on the decision to keep Reed off the list.

“That was a very, very difficult call,” Stricker said. “Kind of lost sleep over that one. He’s a tremendous competitor. He brings a lot to match-play golf. His record here at the Ryder Cup is pretty darned good. It was a very difficult call. It wasn’t an easy one. It was just the uncertainty of his health and really the lack of play that led to our decision down the stretch. I apologised many times to him and just wanted to make sure that he knew that it was a very difficult decision.”

Due to various different stories and controversial moments on the PGA, Patrick Reed has developed quite the reputation as a villain. But it isn’t clear if that’s the reason why Steve Stricker didn’t want him representing the USA at the Ryder Cup.
