NFL’s Inconsistent Fan Attendance Policies Could Create Unfair Advantages

The NFL has left fan attendance policies up to each team this season, which could create huge home field advantages for teams that allow fans. The Chiefs are allowing around 16,000 people to attend games while the Dolphins announced that they are allowing a maximum of 13,000 fans, so basically everyone that wants to go to a Dolphins game can go. Obviously that has people, including coaches, upset about unfair advantages, and I totally get that. Just because a team is located in a small market, or I guess in the case of Florida, just a state with less restrictions, I don’t think they should get the advantage of fans.

The NFL needs to make an across the board fan attendance policy. If fans can’t go in Los Angeles and New Jersey, that’s already four teams out, so nobody should be allowing fans right now. If there is a way to get a small number of fans allowed in all stadiums, then that will be the standard policy this season … it’s ridiculous to even need to say this. The problem is with state- or-city wide mandated guidelines. So the NFL needs to step in. But I know teams want their concession stand beer money and jacked up ticket prices, so here we are — complaining about NFL policies on the internet, a true bonding experience.
