New Cleveland Jerseys Spark Nightmares for Fans

Cleveland debuted new jerseys for the upcoming 2021 season, and the results are horrifying.

The scrawling, scribbled letters that stumble into spelling Cleveland across the black jersey come off as a ransom note and the internet tore it apart.

It was later discovered that the new city jerseys were representative of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which resides in Cleveland.

The letters, in its scrapbook style, represent rock n roll legends whose legacies now reside in the halls of the museum. While the “C” is still in its Cavalier style, the “L” and “E” are in the font of the Sex Pistols. The “V” is in David Bowie’s lettering while the “E” represents Metallica. The “L” stands for Led Zeppelin, the “A” for Nirvana, the “N” for NWA and the last letter, “D”, in the font of Pink Floyd’s The Wall.

On the bottom right, red text displays “Long Live Rock.”

The black color of the jersey unmistakably was chosen to channel the spirit of the Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals, when they dethroned the 73-win Warriors.

It’s been a rough offseason of jersey announcements for Cavalier fans, who not only are stuck with what is coined “the serial killer jerseys” online, but Jordan’s jumpman logo was also indoctrinated on all NBA jerseys this year.

Michael Jordan and his Chicago Bulls defeated the Cavaliers five times over a seven-year stretch, including in the 1992 Eastern Conference Championship Series, just their second in history before LeBron James.

Speaking of LeBron, putting his “goat rival” on his beloved team’s jersey feels like a slap in the face as he continues his quest to become the greatest basketball player ever over Michael Jordan.
