New Auburn Coach Bryan Harsin Gets Trolled For Calling Alabama The ‘Team Up North’

New Auburn head football coach Bryan Harsin has his work cut out for him. He knows his job is to consistently compete with rival Alabama, and that it is no small task.

Bama has been the class of college football for the past decade, with Auburn serving as a “little brother” of sorts. Harsin talked about beating Alabama on Thursday.

“You’ve got a team up north that’s doing a great job,” Harsin said, via Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports. “Well, someone has to come here and figure out a way to compete with them. I know Gus [Malzahn] did a good job here, but things change and that’s just the nature of it. We’ve got to compete in all areas.”

There’s nothing outwardly awry or controversial about this quote, but many fans are wondering if Bryan Harsin knows his Alabama geography. While Alabama is technically north of Auburn, they’re really more West. Needless to say, fans never really refer to them as the “team up north”.

Harsin is getting roasted for his comment.

Ok, we can give Bryan Harsin a break here. Alabama is technically north of Auburn. Hell, if he can find a way to beat them, it doesn’t really matter what he calls them. Harsin is fast at work, and he damn well doesn’t have time for perfect geography.
