Mother ‘Used Deepfake Videos’ to Frame Daughter’s Cheerleading Rivals

Oh Mother. Helicopter parents do exist, and sometimes they cross the line. A mother allegedly used deepfake photos and videos to try to get her teenage daughter’s cheerleading rivals kicked off the team. The mother reportedly sent the content to the coach. The doctored pics showed members of the Victory Vipers team “naked, drinking and smoking.”

The mother was charged with two misdemeanors, and is facing three counts of cyber harassment of a child and three counts of harassment.

See below:

The teenagers told officers Spone sent them “manipulated images,” and in an anonymous message, said that Spone “urged them to kill themselves,” Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Hilltown Township Police Department said they believe her daughter had nothing to do with it.

Someone should turn this into a dark comedy. I’d cast Amy Schumer in a heartbeat.
