Cubs Star Immediately Courts Carlos Correa After MLB Lockout Ends

Free agent shortstop Carlos Correa is officially on the clock!

On Thursday afternoon, MLB fans everywhere rejoiced after it was announced that the players union had reached an agreement with the owners for a new CBA deal — meaning yes, baseball is back.

Almost immediately after the news was announced, recently-signed Chicago Cubs pitcher Marcus Stroman took to social media to recruit Carlos Correa to the team.

“Come through and let’s have Wrigley jumping my dawg,” Stroman said on Twitter.

Marcus Stroman became one of the first dominos to fall in MLB free agency when choosing the Cubs just before the league imposed a lockout. And right away, he started using his Twitter account to try to get the attention of Carlos Correa — as well as other free agents around the league.

After the lockout was lifted, it was announced that free agency would officially begin at 7 p.m ET Thursday night.

Carlos Correa is bound to be highly-coveted, with the Cubs and Yankees currently favorites to land the superstar shortstop.
