One MLB Star Calls For Rob Manfred’s Firing Following Tuesday’s Cancellations

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred might be one of the most hated guys in all of professional sports right now.

Following the announcement on Tuesday that the league could not reach an agreement with the MLBPA to end the lockout, it was announced that (at least) the first couple weeks of the regular season would be canceled without any makeups.

Immediately, fans swarmed social media to call out the latest failure of Rob Manfred and the entire league.

While Rob Manfred was making his announcement that games were set to be canceled, Chicago Cubs pitcher Marcus Stroman took to social media to call for the commissioner to lose his job.

To share Marcus Stroman’s sentiment, the MLBPA sent out a scathing statement directed at Rob Manfred and the MLB owners.

“Rob Manfred and MLB’s owners have cancelled the start of the season. Players and fans around the world who love baseball are disgusted, but sadly not surprised,” part of the statement read.

Marcus Stroman spent last season as a member of the mets before signing a hefty contract to join the Cubs before the lockout was imposed by the league.

Now, he’ll be forced to wait before making his debut in the North Side of Chicago.
