Jesse Lingard Getting Mocked After Brutal Mistake Leads To Champions League Loss For Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo’s first Champions league game during his return to Manchester United didn’t go according to plan, and a lot of the outcome had to do with a mistake made by midfielder Jesse Lingard in stoppage time.

After a first half red card, the Young Boys fought back to even the score with Manchester United, and the game appeared destined to be a draw. But in the waning moments of stoppage time, Jesse Lingard gave the ball away, leading to a wide-open goal for Jordan Pefok.

Immediately after the game ended, fans took to social media to throw massive shade at Jesse Lingard.

Jesse Lingard came onto the pitch in the 72nd minute for Cristiano Ronaldo, in a move that appeared to be about bringing some more speed into the game.

It didn’t work for Manchester United, and now they’ll have to claw their way back in the group stage of Champions League.

For Jesse Lingard, he’ll hope that he can avenge that brutal mental error in the near future.
