Kyle Kuzma Had The Quote Of A Lifetime After His Game-Winner Put The Lakers Over The Nuggets

Kyle Kuzma is one of those guys in the NBA I’ve got very mixed feelings on as a player. For a while, it looked like he was the better player than the more hyped Brandon Ingram for the Lakers before the latter was traded for Anthony Davis. But Kuzma sort of stayed stagnant as a gunner and lost some of his on-court charms, specifically hustling and defense. And now the Lakers need him to give them something as they head into the playoffs, something he did with this game-winner versus Denver last night:

It was a huge shot amidst a huge game for Kuzma, one the Lakers needed to help stem the tide of a tough run in the bubble so far. And Kuzma’s post-game quote to Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks might be just the kind of attitude he and the Lakers need to hit their stride headed into the playoffs:

Now, admititedly, Jesus did come of age in a time and region where He likely didn’t have much height or wingspan. In fact, even though I knew Jesus was supposed to be short, this estimate kind of blew my mind:

Not exactly a fearsome defender, even if He does have the grit of an Earl Boykins or Muggsy Bogues or the hops of a Nate Robinson.

But factual inaccuracy aside, it’s still a strong quote from Kuzma as he embraces his inner Carmelo Anthony. Would Kuz be able to get as clean of a look against Vishnu? Could he work Buddha in the post? Perhaps not. But clearly Kyle Kuzma has some sort of confidence going to take on any and all deities who want to hoop against him.

Maybe it ends up like one of those Mortal Kombat tournaments where Nikola Jokic is Goro and the end game is Kawhi Leonard in the role of Shang Tsung. Kyle Kuzma opened the Pandora’s box for metaphors and now we all have to pay the price.
