Kevin Costner Playing A Pivotal Role For The Field Of Dreams Game

The long wait for MLB’s “Field of Dreams” game is finally over. And fittingly, Kevin Costner is in Iowa to play a huge role in the festivities.

Prior to the game between the Yankees and White Sox, Costner addressed the crowd in Dyersville, Iowa.

Costner spoke of how Field Of Dreams have stood the test of time better than just about any other sports movie. And because the film resonated with so many baseball fans, we have the opportunity for this game tonight.

When Rob Manfred spoke to reporters to announce that the Field of Dreams game was going to continue in 2022, Kevin Costner also sat at the podium and spoke on the cool moment he had on the field with his son.

“I wanted to have that moment with him,” Costner said while chatting with Alex Rodriguez on the set via Newsweek. “Because we played since he was little. That’s all we do in our house is just throw sh**. We just throw anything. It turns into a game, right?”

Kevin Costner has been in many sports movies during his time in Hollywood, but none of had the same impact of Fields of Dreams, and its showing on Thursday night.

Of course, when Kevin Costner fist walked up to the microphone he asked the capacity crowd, “Is this heaven?”

When the capacity crowd answered with the Field of Dreams quote, “no this is Iowa”, Costner corrected them. “Yes, it is,” he said.

It’s bound to be a cool night in Dyersville.
