Justin Jefferson Thought He Was Going To Be An Eagle on Draft Day But Cannot Be Happier That He Isn’t

Minnesota Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson was sure he was going to be a Philadelphia Eagle on Draft Day last year. But, as we know, the NFL Draft takes on many twist and turns, and Jefferson found a home in Minnesota.

The Eagles ended up drafting speedster Jalen Reagor over Jefferson, which is already looking like a boneheaded move.

Justin Jefferson sat down with Tyler R. Tynes of GQ, and shared his Draft Day experience.

“Leading up to the draft, you know, they had all of those mock drafts and people sharing their opinions on who is going to go where,” Jefferson told Tynes. “A lot of people had me going to Philly. And, I thought I was going to Philly. Honestly. The funny part is, Philly was on the board and then Minnesota called me. At first, I thought it was Philly. But, I answered the phone, and it was Minnesota. It’s crazy how all of that happened and everything. But, I’m definitely, definitely, definitely excited that I’m on the Vikings rather than Philly.”

Justin Jefferson and the Vikings aren’t scheduled to play the Eagles this season, but that hasn’t stopped him from dreaming about the day he does face off against the team that passed up on him.

“I’ll always treat every game the same, no matter who I’m playing,” Jefferson said. “But Philly will definitely be edgier. You know, especially because they passed on me.”

Last season, Justin Jefferson caught 88 passes for 1,400 yards and seven TDs. Oh, and he’s only entering his age-22 season. Jefferson looks like he’s going to be a problem in the NFL for many years to come.

Once again, it looks like the Eagles made the wrong decision.
