Judge Refuses To Bail Out Super Bowl Streaker

The Super Bowl streaker who went running through Raymond James Stadium during the Buccaneers-Chiefs championship is not getting any leeway from the judge in charge of his case.

A Tampa judge rejected a plea deal for Yuri Andrade and Douglas Schaffer, who were the two men accused of running on the field during the Super Bowl.

Luis Cartaya, the attorney for Andrade and Schaffer, told judge Jack Gutman that he had reached a plea deal with the prosecutors on the case. The deal would include guilty pleas, and each man would have six months probation, and complete 25 hours of community service.

Judge Gutman thought this punishment would be letting these guys off too easy.

“I am familiar with these cases, as is most of the world,” Gutman said via Total Pro Sports. “I’m not prejudging the case. However, I look at the probable cause on every case. They can have a trial. But the way I view this situation — I saw the video — they exposed multiple individuals to injury that had to chase Mr. Andrade, that had to dive, that had to tackle him. It was a dangerous situation.”

Yuri Andrade was the man who was made famous for streaking through Raymond James Stadium, but Schaffer originally went onto the field, distracting security from his friend. Some rumors surfaced that the two men actually placed a wager on there being a streaker during the game.

That rumor has not been confirmed or denied.

Either way, it looks like the Super Bowl Streaker might be in a little more trouble than he originally planned for. While running on the field would be a cool story for life, it’s just not worth the trouble that comes along with it.
