JR Smith Is Having A Hard Time With His Study Group During First Week Back In College

The JR Smith college experience is in full go mode.

In an effort to join the North Carolina A&T golf team, JR Smith enrolled back in school. And on Tuesday, it was revealed that JR was given the green light by the NCAA for his new operation.

JR Smith has already enrolled in an African-American Studies class. And when he tried to team up with some other North Carolina A&T students for a study group, he shared a hilarious tidbit.

The other students didn’t think JR was actually in their class.

“Joined a study group for my African American Studies class on #groupie an my classmates don’t think it’s me,” Smith said, adding some laughing emojis.

This will be JR Smith’s first crack at college classes after he decided to forego the college option to enter the 2004 NBA Draft.

During his NBA career, Smith developed a reputation for being a party guy, and has been the butt of a lot of Hennessey Jokes thanks to a viral picture after the 2016 Finals. But he doesn’t want to hear that anymore.

“The funny thing is the picture that everybody talks about with me drinking Henny, it’s a champagne bottle,” he said. “So, I don’t even know how that even came about.”

JR Smith is now retired from the NBA after a successful run with the Cavs ended with him winning the NBA Championship.

It’ll be fun to see JR out competing on the golf course.
