The Houston Texans shocked many people around the NFL when they fired VP of communications Amy Pacic earlier today.
Texans fired VP of Communications Amy Palcic, telling her she no longer was "a cultural fit", per sources. Palcic was the first and only woman to have full PR responsibilities for an NFL team. She was the winner of the 2017 Rozelle Award for best PR staff. She is widely respected

Evidently, the Texans didn’t see Palcic as a “cultural fit. Not only were fans and members of the media fed up with Palcic’s firing, but Texans players also seemed pissed off. Here’s What Texans legend JJ Watt had to say about Amy Palcic.
J.J. Watt on Amy Palcic: "You can tell from the universal response from prominent people in the business what type of person Amy is … extremely professional, just really good at her job … was a massive helping hand with me during the hurricane … it's a big loss for us." pic.twitter.com/yQ8o7SWp0u

âI think you can tell from the universal response from prominent people in the business, what type of person Amy is and how well respected and well liked she is, both inside our building and outside the building,â Watt Said. âExtremely professional. Just really good at her job. Cared a lot. Just wants whatâs best for the team and whatâs best for the organization. Always trying to do whatâs best, and was a massive helping hand with me during the hurricane, during my entire time here. So, I think itâs a very difficult loss. Sheâs an incredible person and I think sheâs going to have another job in an absolute heartbeat. I think itâs a big loss for us.â
JJ Watt certainly seems like he has had enough of the Texans organization. He wasn’t the only player to show frustration, either. Receiver Kenny Stills may not have said anything publicly, but he did “like” many tweets about the Palcic firing, one of which called the Texans “one of the worst organizations in football”.
The Texans will certainly suffer well-deserved backlash for this move. As for Amy Palcic, I hope she lands on her feet soon. Based on the amount of respect people have for her, I’m sure she will.
