Jerry Jones Backs His Defensive Coordinator After 1-3 Start

Dem Cowboys are having a rough go of it in 2020.

Four games into the season, the Cowboys have the league’s second-worst record at 1-3. But oddly, thanks in large part to the ineptitude of the other NFC East teams, they are just half a game behind the division lead.

Their offense is putting up record numbers through the air,  meanwhile, they’re defense has been absolutely atrocious.

One would think Jerry Jones would be fired up to make some changes, specifically on the defensive side of the ball.

But Jerry is not too worried.

You can listen to his interview below:

Cowboys Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman said he would be embarrassed over their defensive effort.

“To me, I’d be embarrassed as a player to put that kind of performance on film,” Aikman told Dallas radio station 96.7 KTCK The Ticket. “That’s going to be seen by your peers for the rest of the season.”

The Browns thrashed the Dallas defense for 307 rushing yards, the most the Cowboys had ever allowed in a single game.

“I just didn’t think the effort was there,” Aikman said Tuesday morning. “Over the years, you could always point to the way the Cowboys played defensively. They played with great effort and always flew around 11 guys. Didn’t always play great, but it was always there on film as far as the effort level.

One thing’s for sure, no matter how many passing records Dak Prescott is breaking, it won’t translate to wins unless they fix their defense.

The Cowboys inconsistency seems to be a recurring theme year in and year out.

And we’re not mad about it.
