The USC Dance team is under fire today after an investigation has revealed some disturbing allegations. On Thursday, the Los Angeles Times posted an investigation into the rotten culture of the University of Southern California’s Song Girls, the school’s famed dance squad.
Ten women spoke about being harassed over their weight and eating habits, of having to wear a full face of make-up at all times, and even being shamed for their sex lives.
Via LA Times:
“All 10 of the women who spoke to The Times said Song Girls faced serious body image issues within the program that went beyond normal fitness required to be on a spirit squad. Three, including Bullen, said their experiences led to some form of eating disorder. Another recalled feeling so depressed she considered suicide.

This isn’t necessarily a gender issue.
Most of the treatment was at the hands of women.
All of this for a dance team.
