Deshaun Watson Reportedly Preparing To Sit Out Entire Season If Not Traded By Houston

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is going to absolutely dominate the NFL headlines for the entire offseason. The disgruntled quarterback has made it clear to the team’s management that he would like to be traded. While the Texans have maintained that they will not be moving their QB, Watson also hasn’t budged. Now, it’s reported that Deshaun is prepared to sit out as long as necessary–until he is traded.

While Deshaun Watson is prepared to sit out, the Texans might be prepared to let him. At least, until they get the haul they think is deserved for his talents. The only problem is that if general manager Nick Caserio waits too long, Deshaun Watson’s trade value could diminish. Teams in need of a QB are going to have to fill that hole at some point, and it’s unlikely that a lot of teams will wait until after training camp has already begun to get “their guy”.

It seems like Caserio thinks he has a chance at keeping Watson around for the long term.

“Organizationally, I just want to reiterate our commitment to Deshaun Watson,” Caserio said Friday during a press conference introducing new head coach David Culley. “He’s had a great impact on this organization, a great impact on a lot of people, a great impact on this team, and we look forward to the opportunity to spend more time with him here this spring once we get started.

If I’m Deshaun Watson, theres no chance in hell I’m showing up for the Texans. That ship has sailed, it’s time to move on. If he’s not going to play, they’ll have to trade him at some point.
