Dallas Cowboys RT La’el Collins was suspended for 5 games after trying to bribe an NFL’s drug-test collector.

Collins reportedly missed multiple tests and then tried to bribe the officer.
The NFL was planning to suspend Collins for 5 games, but the NFLPA was aware of the situation and was able to negotiate a reduction to a two-game suspension.
This is when it gets funny. Collins then appealed the suspension where a judge ruled for it to be moved back to 5 games following the evidence presented.
Collins believes that he had legitimate reasons to miss the drug-tests, including one on the day that the Cowboys strength and conditioning died last November, and missing another to attend the funeral of an uncle.
If the suspension is upheld, Collins will be able to return to the Cowboys roster on October 18th, the day after the team plays the New England Patriots.
The suspension will also cost Collins around $2 million in pay and will void the injury guarantee worth $6.48 million in his 2022 salary.
Collins had started 62 of 63 games dating back to 2015. The Cowboys can’t afford to lose more players of their already rough looking offensive line.
The Cowboys take on the Eagles at home on Monday night football.
