Coronavirus Wanted Nothing To Do With Gardner Minshew

The Jaguars placed Gardner Minshew on the COVID-19 List on Sunday but announced Tuesday morning that he has been taken off the list and cleared for football activities. Minshew told reporters that the virus “took one good look at me, ran away.” According to reports, it sounds like Minshew had been around Jaguars wide receiver Michael Walker, who tested positive, so Minshew was quarantined until he tested negative.

Of course, COVID-19 didn’t want anything to do with him. It took one look at his jorts, cut-off tee and bandanna and moved right on to the next person in Florida.

There are the best quarterbacks, and then there are my favorite quarterbacks. Gardner Minshew is one of my favorite quarterbacks.

If you watched him at all in college at Washington State, I think you know he has the potential to become more than just my favorite, too. Anyone that can get me to turn on a Jags game should be celebrated. I still remember watching the first games of the 2019 season. I was in the Denver airport and the Jags were playing the Chiefs. Nick Foles went down with a broken clavicle, and that’s when the legend of Gardner Minshew began (in the NFL).

They ended up losing, but Minshew had an 88% completion percentage in his NFL debut (best in NFL history), which happened to be the highest completion percentage in a single game for the Jaguars, ever. Minshew has been announced as the Jags 2020 starter and after throwing for 3,271 yards and 21 touchdowns with six interceptions and going 6-for-6 as a rookie quarterback in 2019, I can’t wait to see what he does in 2020. Plus, the jorts make me laugh.
