Rams’ Andrew Whitworth Blasts Former 49ers Player For Trying To Troll His Wife

Prior to last weekend’s NFC Championship Game between the Rams and 49ers, many people involved in the Rams organization were lobbying were their fans not to sell tickets to 49ers fans. And that included offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth’s wife, Melissa, who took to social media to lobby with fans to offer her their tickets before giving them away to the opposing teams’ fans.

“If you @RamsNFL fans want to sell your tickets – I’ll buy them. Just DO NOT sell them to the other team PLEASE!” she wrote.

Almost immediately, former 49ers star Joe Staley appeared to mocked Melissa Whitworth by copying her message word for word.

After the Rams beat the 49ers to reach the Super Bowl, Andrew Whitworth sent a lengthy message to call out Joe Staley for seemingly clowning his wife.

“My guys who have played the [NFL] game. Been in the trenches. Could you imagine trying to troll another player’s wife? When you [are] not even a player anymore? Having 49ers fans troll her all week. Sending her nasty crap. [Used] to respect this guy. This ain’t it! Could you imagine being an elite player to only become a fan who [tries] to troll women or significant others of players? Life comes as at you fast! I’m who I am because this would never be me. I respect the game.

The men who come after me and before me. Would never disrespect regardless of my cheerleader feelings. My children even know better than this. But that’s why I’m me. And he’s him! Embarrassing for our game. 49ers fans can say anything they want! Y’all can buy all the tickets you want to the Super Bowl! I would hope a legend of the game would leave a [player’s] wife out of it. Attack the woman tough guy! I’ll address that at a later date!”

According to Melissa, Andrew Whitworth and Joe Staley have talked since the social media back-and-forth to hash out their beef.

It appears that it’s time for the rest of us to “move on”. And Andrew Whitworth will now focus his attention to winning his first Super Bowl in his long, storied career.
