Colts GM Chris Ballard Was Asked Once Again About The Impending Carson Wentz Decision

With the NFL Draft and free agency right around the corner, the Indianapolis Colts are going to have to decide whether or not they’re moving forward with Carson Wentz as their QB1. And they’re going to have to decide soon.

But by all indications, the Colts’ brass is still mulling their options for 2022 QB, and when asked on Tuesday, Colts GM Chris Ballard said the team is still not ready to announce their plans moving forward.

“I don’t have the direct answer for you. We’re working through it
Ultimately we’ll do what’s best for the Colts,” said Ballard.

Carson Wentz failed to make the postseason in his first year with Indy, losing the last game of the season the the lowly Jaguars in embarrassing fashion.

But with that being said, he came as-advertised for the Colts in 2021. Wentz (true to form) had some flashes and great moments, along with some boneheaded decisions and poor performances.

Looking at the free agency and draft options, it’s hard to imagine that Chris Ballard and the Colts are going to get a huge upgrade from Carson Wentz next season.

But like Chris Ballard said, they’re still looking at potentially upgrading at the most important position in all over sports.
