Colin Cowherd Trashes Pittsburgh Steelers and Fanbase After First Loss

Colin Cowherd did not mince words with Pittsburgh Steelers fans after the team shockingly lost 23-17 to the Washington Football Team Monday afternoon. The previously undefeated Steelers took their first loss of the NFL season in humiliating fashion and Cowherd pulled no punches.

Cowherd went straight to his cocktail and cigar collection on his patio to celebrate betting on Washington (+8.5) on FOX Bet. A lecture toward the Steel Curtain soon followed.

His rant ended by listing NFL teams that were better than Pittsburgh at this moment, including division rival Cleveland, 6-6 New England and the 5-7 New York Football Giants as he puffed away on his cigar.

“I’d spend time with you Steeler Nation, but I want to watch a better football team Buffalo, who’s going to beat you next week,” Cowherd said. “It’s time for you to apologize to me, you hurt my feelings.”

The Herd host originally picked Pittsburgh to go 7-9 this season, behind Baltimore (16-0) and Cleveland (9-7), saying “I no longer think of the Pittsburgh Steelers as a great organization.” Steeler fans went after him on Twitter and kept it up as each win piled onto their undefeated run.

Alongside his pre-season prediction, Cowherd questioned the skills and talent of both quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and head coach Mike Tomlin heading into 2020. “I felt when [Tomlin] faced Belichick, he was completely outcoached,” Cowherd said. “I never feel that way when Andy Reid faces Belichick. I didn’t feel that way when Doug Pederson faced Belichick. I never felt that way when Tony Dungy faced Belichick. I never feel that way when Pete Carroll faces Belichick.”

Tomlin is 3-8 lifetime versus Belichick and the Patriots, including a 36-17 loss in their lone playoff duel.

Many pundits have criticized Pittsburgh’s 11-0 run through the early part of the NFL season, claiming fool’s gold. Pittsburgh played eight teams with a sub-.500 record in their first 12 games. Five of their contests were against backup QBs, including their loss to Alex Smith.

Despite the loss, Pittsburgh remains at the top of the league with the Kansas City Chiefs breathing down their necks. Pittsburgh has Buffalo, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Cleveland to finish their season against.
