Carolina Panthers Reveal Footage Of The Vikings Low-Balling Them On Draft Day While Trying To Trade Up For Justin Fields

In the weeks after the NFL Draft, it has been widely reported that the Minnesota Vikings were actively trying to trade up for quarterback Justin Fields during the first round. The Chicago Bears ended up landing the Ohio State product, after they aggressively moved up to the No. 11 overall pick.

Now, the Panthers have released some footage of their war room on Draft Day, and the Vikings kept calling to try to attain the No. 8 overall pick from them.

Check out the Panthers’ reactions to some of the low-balling offers from the Vikings’ brass:

The Vikings would not give up a future first round, and the Bears ended up giving up theirs in order to land Justin Fields. That was the difference.

The Panthers would wind up holding onto their No. 8 pick, drafting cornerback Jaycee Horn from South Carolina.

Minnesota would later take Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond in the third round.

While it’s obvious that Kirk Cousins will remain the Vikings quarterback for the time being, it certainly seems like they feel that he’s not the long term solution in Minnesota. Don’t be surprised if the Vikings continue to try to bolster their quarterback room over the course of the next year.
