Calvin Johnson Absolutely Shreds the Detroit Lions

Just imagine how great Calvin Johnson could have been on a different franchise. The receiver known as Megatron and the Detroit Lions are playing nice for now, but in an interview with Woodward Sports, the longtime Lions wideout bluntly stated he’s still not part of the Lions “family” and doesn’t seem to expect that to change.

Asked if he’s had conversation with Matthew Stafford lately, the conversation took a revealing turn.

“I was talking to Matthew yesterday. Matthew’s doing well,” said Johnson. “I’m happy for him because he’s happy that he’s out in California. you know, him and his beautiful family; they’re loving their time out there.”

“When he’s comfortable, he’s good where he’s at. So you can only expect good things from him. I look forward to seeing him out there.”

Calvin Johnson started to spill some tea:

“You know what, it sucked that they didn’t let me go, but they let Matthew go, but hey, you know, it is what it is,” said Johnson. “I’m not mad at Matthew; I love Matthew.”

The Hook co-host Tom Mazawey then asked Johnson if he would’ve gone to the Oakland Raiders, and that’s when Johnson chuckled and replied:

“Man, I would’ve went anywhere.”

Johnson stated when it was time for him to retire, he asked the Lions front office if they would allow him to move on. And they denied his request.

“We asked would they release me or let me go to another team,” said Johnson. “They wouldn’t.”

Another nugget that Johnson let slip is that there is still a lingering issue with him and the Lions, but that won’t impact his relationship with the players.

“I’m not back in the family with Lions or anything like that,” said Johnson. “It would be nice to if they try to resolve things, but that’s neither here nor there.”

“I’m always here to support the players. That’s what it’s about. Supporting the players.”

The Lions are one of the worst franchises in all of sports. They ruined Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson’s careers. They owe the fans for fumbling those bags.
